Activities in Flora and Clay County

While visiting Flora’s historic B&O Railroad Depot and Museum, here are other places to visit and events to participate in.

Charley Brown Park

Located 3 miles east of Flora on Old U.S. 50 Highway is a 100-acre facility owned and operated by the City of Flora. Camping sites shaded under large oak trees offer hook-ups for very reasonable fees from May 1 through November 1. The park offers a modern swimming pool, playground areas, picnic shelter areas, and a lake. It is also the home of Little Toot Railroad. Little Toot Railroad

An historic miniature train offers rides to children and adults of all ages through beautiful Charley Brown Park from May through September. The train operates on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.; and on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information call 618-662-8040 or visit www.littletootrailroad.com. Flora Country Club

This nine-hole golf course adjoins Charley Brown Park and is open to the public. The clubhouse offers cart rentals, food and refreshments. Tee times are available and the course is open year round. For information, call 618-662-2500.

Clay County Speedway
